Bonatti, Cassin, Whillans, Terray, to name a few of the greats. They will have started the same way as you will with us, on the glaciers and peaks of the Alps.
Chamonix - an ideal base for our first Alpine season
From Geneva airport it's a very short distance to this famous town, the very centre of MODERN ALPINISM. Chamonix - with its excellent system of telepheriques and huts - is ideal for an introduction to alpine climbing and, for the more advanced, an opportunity to scale great alpine peaks.
Instruction in modern techniques, including glacier travel and crevasse rescue, will lead to an opportunity to climb a 4000m peak.The more advanced will scale some great classic alpine peaks culminating in a traverse of Mt. Blanc, the highest point in the Alps.
Smiler's Alpine course was the perfect preparation for a successful ascent of Mont Blanc.
