Lake District Rock
We will base ourselves in Borrowdale, close to the many great crags of this lovely valley. So many wonderful rock climbs to choose from. For example, a short hike from Honister Pass is the superb Gillercombe Buttress (s), a must on a dry day. The equally superb multi-pitch Troutdale Pinnacle (vs) on Black Crag – do they get much better? More great mountain rock days are also close at hand, delving deep into history Napes Needle (v.diff), considered by many to be the first ever rock climb in the UK, for instance).
For more esoteric adventures, slightly farther afield, the ultra-famous Scafell Crag, Great Gable, Pillar Rock, Eskdale and Buttermere, they're all around!
Closer to home, with brilliant climbing, Sheppard’s Crag awaits us, with its multitude of great lines on superb rough rock – Little Chamonix (HS), Elliot’s *** (VS) or Brown Slabs Direct (?) to name but a few.
